An Invitation From Kazakhstan - Nauryz

Hello Auburn Friends!

The Kazakhs ( since nomadic times) and people living here ( now) are celebrating Nauryz- the coming of spring, the day of equinox or it’s like New Year as Nauryz is translated like ‘’new day”. We are inviting you to share this holiday with us . We’ll send you the video on the blog how to make baursaks and the tea ceremony. How about baking baursaks and drinking tea according to our tradition? We would like you to make a video and send us. We’ll appreciate if your students write some comments and questions, they are interested in, and ours do the same. Is it possible?

Kazakh baursak is served often with tea, either as a appetizer or dessert. Fried dough is loved in Kazakhstan . They can be made as either triangles, squares or spheres.
